Conversion and extension of an office building
The project involves the renovation and extension of an office building located on Avenue de Tervuren, in Etterbeek. The intervention aims to improve the quality of reception areas and working spaces used for seminars, training sessions, and courses, while ensuring fire safety compliance and enhancing the building’s energy performance.
A new room is created in the basement, beneath part of the rear garden, in order to accommodate more activities without altering the architectural qualities of the existing volume. The project also includes the restoration of the front façade, the insulation of the roofs, and the thermal improvement of the rear façade.
The building’s remarkable original finishes — including mouldings, tapestries, ceramic tiles, woodwork, and ironwork — are preserved and highlighted. Their conservation helps to restore the elegance and richness of the building while adapting it to contemporary needs.
The project follows an approach that values the existing structure and promotes sustainability, combining respect for the building’s heritage character with modern standards of comfort and functionality.
