Refurbishment of an office space in Ixelles, Place Flagey
The "Ligue des Familles" commissioned us to redesign the layout of an office floor they had acquired on the edge of Place Flagey in Ixelles. The space was initially fully partitioned, dark, and lacking in any meaningful views — offices turned their backs on one another along an opaque central corridor.
In collaboration with the client, a participatory process was established involving all of the Ligue’s teams. We met with staff members to better understand the specific needs of each department, their expectations, and any concerns they might have. The resulting proposal aims to achieve the following goals:
- A welcoming arrival area filled with light, views, and openness
- Easy wayfinding for staff and visitors
- Clear identification of each department, in line with the client’s requests
- A variety of workspace options: dedicated desks, quiet flex-desks, cafeteria, “bubbles,” and meeting rooms
- A large central cafeteria facing Place Flagey, designed to serve as a space for projection, informal meetings, and events
- Integration of employees’ feedback and aspirations into the design of their future working environment
